A bowling club in any community is a leisure activity used by so many age groups. Keep it open, we need it in Watford. It is also so important for people to meet and enjoy other people’s company.

This club needs to stay open as it a vital part of community life for the older generation. This is the only social life some mwmbers have to meet people and keep active .It prevents loneleness and depression and gives them a purpose in life.In this day and age when we are told to be more active in older life why would you take this away from them.

Save an important part of our community. Why do you have shut everything down and blame money.

Since the club opened many years ago the council has more then had their money back in rent whoever thought up this idea should hang their heads in shame

The rent increase could be defferred by not increasing councillors and chief execs exspenses

How much money spent on parks and play areas and never used except for a meeting place for teenagers? Put some money into helping the older generation

Watford Borough Council are a bunch of money grabbing parasites who don't give a damn about their residents

This park is absolutely beautiful and doesn't deserve to be built up and car parked over for trampoline etc leisure facilities that could easily be accommodated at the Centre next door and Francis Combe. It is an award winning Green Flag park and would be a complete travesty to bulldoze this into a commercial concrete profit making leisure facility. To use bully boy tactics and take the club to court at the entire expense of the taxpayer, is a criminal misplacement of funds and totally unethical. Can I have a refund on my £200 plus per month council tax? - this is NOT what I contribute towards. This facilty is well established and well used and feedback from residents is not being taken into consideration. The decision was made and pushed before it even made public and went to planning and consultation - shame on you Lib Dems!

I used to come to a business networking group here. As we finished our morning meeting lots of local club members would be arriving to meet, chat and play bowls. It seemed to be a great community space – and beneficial to the health and wellbeing of the local community.

Community space pays for itself over and over again in wellbeing terms. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water!
