I took a water skiing vacation to Virginia last year and am planning to do so again this year. Chickahominy was on the list of potential places we were going to visit ... but if we can't ski there we will not come.

I have participated in the sport of waterskiing with my family all my life. It has always been a full family outing with my grandfather, father, and remains such with myself and my wife and daughter.

Waterskiing is a wonderful family activity that brings families and communities together. It can be safely pursued on lakes as small as 10 acres.

I've skied on a 10 acre lake since 2002 with no problem. The lake in question is huge and skiing should be allowed!

We started our kids skiing at a very young age and that family time together has always been important. As our son grew up and skied on his college team we began to meet many of his teammates. We quickly notice how respectful and mature these young adults were. We believe that's a direct result of quality time spent with their families growing up. To this day,our kids still want to spend time with us "old farts" and always have.

Laws or ordinances should not be engineered to exclude activities (waterskiing) based on the prejudices of a few. Public waterways should be free for all activities regardless of their form, as long as those activities are conducted safely & with respect.

Water Skiing is a great sports and should be allowed on Chickahominy lake. I prefer to not have fishermen in the area where I ski but I realize the water is for everyones use. So, I don't try to ban fishing. It takes a very small area for skiing and eliminating this activity does nothing to help the lake or the businesses on it.
