I play in the team that set world record for the longest waterpolo match in 1980 at the Warringah Aquatic Centre.

Not only would local Users miss their pool, but Manly pool would have to take the overflow, and the parking in Manly!?!?? Wouldn't cope

Just a tragic idea! What a backward step for the Community of swimmers who have clubs and competitions at the facility. A devastating loss to the community!

Please, please do not close the aquatic centre. Thousands of children train regularly at the facility then enjoy their carnivals - it would be such a loss to the wider community.

I have been siwimming & utilising the WAC since it's openning late in 1979. It is very much apart of my life and would be deeply saddened by it's closure

This is a great local facility that is accessible by all! Please don't take away an important health (physical and emotional) service from our community.

With what the previous manly council did with their pool, those not fortunate enough to live right on the beach absolutely need this facility

This is the rate payers of Warringah 's pool. Let us be heard! Put it to the next council election to confirm its popularity and essential existance on the northern Beaches!

He's back, peddling State Government objectives under the guise of 'getting on with it" - hands off our assets Dick! As a long term resident of Warringah, I cannot believe we are again in the hands of the same state-appointed administrator. Dick Persson held on determinably to his non-elected power, for 6 long years at the helm of Warringah Council, so he could finish off "a number of important projects" so he could carry out state government plans for our local area. And now he's doing it again. Closing our public swimming centre is not a decision for a non-elected council. Locals use this pool every day. Northern Beaches schools NEED this swim centre - there is no alternative! The Andrew Boy Charlton pool is not an option. It is difficult to access being at one end of the peninsular with very limited parking. Despite an embarrassing amount of money spent, it also remains largely in poor condition with ALL the outdoor pool areas untouched by the +$15 millions spent. We need our centrally located pool at Frenchs Forest and it would another appalling waste of taxpayers' money to close a perfectly good pool facility knowing it will need immediate replacement. Warrinagh Aquatic Centre resides on an ideal and future-proof site with plenty of room for expansion for our growing population.

This would be a huge disappointment for the community to see this facility closed as it offers such quality programs catering for all abilities and age group to the families.

This is an essential service for the community and is a local icon. Our children need this facility to be kept open and gain essential swimming skills paramount to living on the northern beaches

The pool has been a wonderful venue over many years for all ages. Keeping elderly people active. Friendships formed. Babies, children taught to swim. School swim carnivals.Everyone protected from the sun and in an ideal position. Please don't let us all down by taking it away.
