It is hard enough to get access to pools....now you want to close a pool that is always used by the community on a daily basis.

1600 children are enrolled in the Learn to Swim Program at the Warringah Aquatic Centre, not to mention those in holiday programs and the very important adult programs. The Northern Beaches council would be completely irresponsible to take this pool away and leave these kids (and adults) without a place in a Learn to Swim Program. Swim schools in the Northern Beaches are overrun with parents looking for places for their kids to learn how to swim. With the number of drownings we have seen over the summer we need to keep kids (and adults) swimming. Northern Beaches Council, I urge you to make the right decision. Listen to the people. Keep this pool open. Thank you.

haha, Warringah Council does it again. They never seem to listen to the people. Unless the pool is falling down then leave it. What are the cost for a new centre. Also why is council supplying land for a state project? ie, the new school. Baird?

What a joke that an area like manly Warringah is at risk of losing its only indoor 50 meter pool, and only official 50m racing pool. An area like this where swimming is entrenched in the culture of our youth and carried through our lives. This is an area where swimming champs are bred and here we have a council about to kill this! We risk the end of an era for short sightedness. Shame on you destroying a magnificent culture if you take away Warringah pool before a new (complying) pool is built. Shane on you if you allow a hiatus period where these swimmers are left without a pool for ANY period. Shame on you because we know a replacement pool is not a guarantee. Northern Veaxhes council is a disgrace with the provision of quality?, state of the art sport facilities, and yet again you don't fail to disappoint. Bri g on the next council election. You can make your decision a vote winner or loser! Don't shut Warringah pool

We need this olympic size pool for the northern beaches - there are no other facilities of this standard for our area and with the hospital precinct we are going to need it even more. Please do not close our pool

A swimming pool of this standard and with the great services of swim classes etc. is important in this area. No one who uses it would give that up for nothing!!

Don't close our fabulous pool that serves a wide community. Closing it will be a big mistake and swopping sites a ridiculous waste of our tax payers money.
Thank you!

This pool has saved my life. I lost 20 kgs 3 years ago - and I swim 3 times a week several kms - all thanks to this pool. Why give this pool away for a high school that already exists. Its just dumb.
We were never told when had all the consultation about the new "private" hospital that we'd loose this wonderful community "public" asset.

The aquatic centre is a valuable asset to the community. All year round I have been swimming there several times a week and it would be a devastating loss if building on that site would have this amazing pool demolished.

This has been my local pool since I was a kid. Was one of the first school groups to swim there back in 1979. Still swim there. It should definitely stay.
