If it was your own money you would not bulldose the aquatic centre to build a new one over the road.

A minimum necessity for the northern beaches area. Why would you close something that works

Surely there is enough space next to the pool to build the school, then you would also have customers right next door and would help kids be more active and healthy.

Here's why we keep it!!!! Local swim carnivals, swimming lessons, squads, a chance to exercise in winter, old folks exercise, disabled folks exercise, less pressure in beach parking in summmer... Refurbish it! Get the kiosk sorted (why not design it with an out door area too?) add a cafe, add slides, bbqs, enclosed play area for little folk, more resources for disabled folk but please Don't Close the WAQ!!!

Please keep the swimming pool and build the school on top or next door. The area needs both

If WAC closed, other pools in the Northern Beaches couldn't cope with the extra demand. Already one of Northern Beaches indoor pools is closed for reconstruction - Harbord Diggers. WAC should not close until the new pool is ready. A new pool needs to be a 50m pool.

This would be terrible if the pool were to close, leave it be! I have so many lovely memories of swimming at the Aquatic Centre.

This is such a well used facility. From swim school, to squads to adult squads. Plus a massive water polo club, and many families recreational use. Surely there is plenty of land to develop the high school with closing this facility.

There is no facility on the northern beaches which is able to accomodate the range of activities year round for pool users.

I have recently read through the document relating to the forest high school development and have many concerns as to what this development takes away from the community with very little assurance that these are returned back to the user's of these facilities. The closure of the Aquatic swimming centre is a massive loss for all those that love swimming in our area. The proposal indicates that it is planned to be relocated in the new building on the old high school site. How is this plan to be believed that a new 50 meter pool will be installed with the other aquatic centre facilities in a private development. Water tight assurances are needed to span the long time span that will see the current facilities removed before the new development is built and operating, otherwise we will end up with half a pool at best. This plan does not have a clear objective as to what will happen with the baseball fields. The grounds at Aquatic are the central fields for baseball on the northern beaches with all representative games for manly played across all ages from under 10 and up. All 5 diamonds are also used constantly throughout the year for players from the age of 5 though to 75. It looks to me like this land will now be controlled by the department of education so where will baseball be relocated? What Also becomes of the two football fields and the cricket pitch that is currently located on the grounds at the forest high school. Is there not already a shortage of playing fields for both of these sports already, that is without the projected increase in the population in the area. It appears to me that the community will lose a lot of good facilities with very little assurance that any of these will be returned. I understand that the aquatic centre is an ageing facility and requires a lot of money to keep it operating let alone for it to be improved but there is no way a high school that serves a growing population could fit on the same foot print that the Swimming c
