Why close down yet another hospital ward, especially one that has much support and great reviews,it's a scandal!

My wife spent 3 weeks recovering in Ward 10 from a serious attack caused by dementia.. The Staff were wonderful and helped my wife recover. The whole experience was devastating but the Staff made everything so much easier for me to bear. I hope Ward 10 is saved for other sufferers in a similar position to me.. When you need help of this kind, there could be no better place.

I am a volunteer on Ward 10. I have talked to relatives, watched the staff take time for everyone and tried to give back something in memory of my lovely Dad, who had he been in hospital now would have been on Ward 10. He would have had dignity, his own clothes and someone like me to hold his hand when I wasn't around.

Dementia is a cruel disease and sufferers and their families deserve the best. We need to keep such facilities open and support sufferers and their families.

Too many services are being downgraded/transferred to Heartlands or stopped completely. High time these disgraceful actions were stopped.

Dementia is at long last being recognised and highlighted in the news...along with the fact we have an increasing, aging population = the dementia issue will probably get worse...so why do the Government think it's a good idea to close these specialised wards? It seems clear to me that people need the care now, as my late Nana did, let alone in the future when it will get worse? If the Government spent less on funding wars or increasing their own salaries/fiddling expenses and more in their own back yard for the real problems the UK has/is facing, I'm sure Britain would be a happier place. Government take note and keep these wards open!

Dementia wards offer a unique type of care. We have children's dedicated wards, why shouldn't vulnerable adults be given the same quality of specialised nursing?

We have an aging population. It is therefore essential that specialist wards for elderly remain open
