my mother who has vascular dementia has recently been an in patient at solihull hospital and it was evident the ward staff had no idea how to manage her. It would be tragic to lose the experienced staff of ward 10 especially as dementia is going to be a increasing problem not only as we are an ageing population but due to diabetes, alcohol and vascular related conditions.

As we live longer it's inevitable that more people will develop some kind of dementia. It's essential to have a dedicated ward manned by dedicated and qualified staff to cope with this.

The staff of Ward 10 do a fantastic job. The patients receive very special care before they return to the community

Ward 10 at Solihull Hospital does an outstandingly valuable role in caring for patients who have dementia. It allows them to be treated in an environment that is suited to their particular needs.

there is a high population of elderly residents in this area suffering from dementia so a local service is essential.

Solihull Hospital definitely needs Ward 10. My late mother had vascular dementia and there was no such facility at Solihull when she was diagnosed and there was. of so much understanding of dementia illnesses at that

My mother was recently on Ward 10 and it was the first time the NHS have actually given her the proper care that she needed and understood dementia. It will be a tradegy if this ward closes. The staff were all kind and understanding and hard working whilst still remaining happy and positive.
