Service dogs have feelings also. If someone was banging a fence at you, wouldn't you be mad?

It is creul to provoke an animal and then claim that same animal is dangerous. Please do not be fooled by the ignorance, selfishness and stupidity of the neighbor claiming a dog is dangerous after they have antagonized this dog. Walter is doing what all good loving family dogs do. They protect their family and home. That is not a crime and it certainly does not make them dangerous.

The neighbor should be arrested and thrown in jail for attacking this dog!

A dog that passes a service animal cert cannot be deemed dangerous. Don't be stupid. Test the dog and get over yourselves.

Mr. Mayor, May we take you to where service dogs of all breeds, pitties included, are trained to be a service dog. Unless you have someone in your family who has a disability and is better with the use of a service dog, you cannot know how wrong you and the prosecutor are regarding Walter. Please take time to see how Walter can help the child. God forbid something like this would happen to you or a member of your family. Please look into this more and do not demand that Walter be classified as a dangerous animal. It is the neighbor who likely is a dangerous if he tries to taunt the dog. License the neighbor as a threat. Also, please ask your police chief to train their officers on how to properly react to animals who are being taunted. Thank you. H.A. Steinhaus, Wilmette, IL

Save Walter. Just because one neighbor complained and Walter jumped against fence is no reason to consider Walter a threat.

Any dog will bark if someone bangs on their fence. Sounds like the neighbors are just being jerks and taunting the dog.

Mayor Butler, Please don't join the neighbor in doing the wrong thing by registering this dog as a dangerous dog. Take into consideration that the neighbor has the ability and intelligence to make the right decisions but chose not to do so by agitating this dog. The dog and the owner should not have to pay for the wrong that the neighbor willfully chose to do. Thank you, sir. Respectfully, Jessie R. Pesina
