He didn't do anything any different than any other dog would have done so why pick on this dog. Leave him alone.

This is not right. He's not a dangerous dog. never attacked anyone. He's a member of the family. Please don't do this to this family. Don't they have enough to deal with already? have a heart

I don't understand this it's madness! Yet I'm surrounded by status owners with their genuinely dangerous dogs and the local authorities have failed to respond to a few of my neighbours who I know have made complaints :\

Dear Mayor Butler, Have you ever owned a dog in your life?? Jumping on a fence because someone hit on it does not make Walter a dangerous dog! This has to be one of the most absurd ways ever to determine if a dog is dangerous! Of course if any animal is teased and taunted on his own turf he is going to respond in that way! I think the person that needs to be registered as dangerous is the ignorant neighbor that is trying to agitate Walter! I hope you do the humane thing and side with Walter and not the immature, trouble making neighbor!

I can't believe this story, because the dog jumped up and barked? Get a grip people for god sake!

Dear Sirs/Madam, as you are well aware Walter is a trained Service Dog who reacted to a situation where where ignorant humans purposely provoked him. His response was to raise an "alarm" to protect his human and property. Put the blame where it belongs, on the tormentors. Putting down Walter would be a travesty. Signed, Beth-Ann Blum

The dog is a "Service " dog. Do not judge because of breed. any breed can be a service dog. Any breed dog will bark or worse to defend his property.

I think the state should stop abusing of their power and using it against animals, why don't they use the same energy on those neighbors that obviously provoqued him to react ? I think we should label the neighbors "dangerous " not the dog !

Dear Mayor Butler: I'm writing today in support of Sharon McAlister, her disabled son Adam and his service dog, Walter. It is my understanding that you intend to side with the prosecution in this matter and have Walter registered as a dangerous dog. Walter has never attacked another human being or animal in his life. He was rescued from a shelter several years ago and has been a member of the McAlister family and a service dog for their son, Adam, completely changing his quality of life and frankly, the quality of life for the entire McAlister family. If he had at all harmed another person or animal, then this would be a different story altogether. However, that is not the case. Their neighbor has been caught on several occasions agitating Walter and attempting to video the ordeal. Any animal behaves in this manner when taunted or teased, especially in defense of their property and family. For the above reasons, I hope that you will seriously reconsider your stance in siding with the prosecution. Walter is a cherished member of the family and this decision could ultimately endanger not just his life but the life of a disabled member of your community. Please use your influence and voice for the greater good in this situation -the well being of many are depending on it. Kind Regards, Team Walter
