What a penny pinching attitude, surely £70,000 can be saved by other means, closing down the heritage of the people of Walsall is an absolute disgrace, what cutbacks have the councillors themselves made. Museums should be saved for the present and future generations to learn about their heritage. A town/city without a museum is a place without a soul. Past councillors would be turning in their graves if they new what this present council is doing.

There are plenty of other things where £70,000 could be saved. Walsall does not need so many councillors - the state of the town proves that! Reduce the number of councillors and save remunerations and 'non contributry' pension payouts.

Councillors elected to the council is not a job - any payment is for representing the voter. A pension attached is sheer greed and the 'paid for Pension by the council taxpayer should cease. Any pension should be paid for by the one receiving the remuneration.

This is not the first such philistine action. The Lock Museum a (and teh Jerome Musuem?) were lost for the sake of trivial sums while far greater sums are wasted elsewhere!

Our heritage and history is something we should be proud of and want to share, it shouldn't be treated as if it doesn't matter.

It's essential that we don't let our heritage be hiden away in some damp, dusty storage warehouse.

Is our town's history worth only £70,000? Isn't this about the average weekly wage for a Premiership football player? Our society is in serious trouble.

Too much Black Country heritage has been destroyed. It is imperative that this museum be saved.

My family lived in Lumley Road, Walsall for over fifty years from the 1920s to the 1970s

It is important to save treasures like the Walsall archives for our generation and for future generations to understand our history. We must learn from the past and encourage young people to learn and enjoy their heritage. If past generations had been so short sighted we would have no heritage at all and would be the poorer for it.

Ridiculous saving. For running an important history service. Don't you want people to learn about the past? We can learn from our mistakes you know!
