I use the playfield lawn every day to go on short walks or play catch. Green space and big trees are important to me and dwindling in Seattle. I’m in strong support of saving the playfield.

Why are we considering turf fields? We’ll look back on it one day the same as smoking indoors at restaurants.

Both my kids are at Hamilton and I think this is a terrible proposal. Leave the park in place!

My family, including my cat, love this park. The knoll is our favorite part! I have seen butterflies, birds, bees, squirrels and more all enjoying that area. We cannot lose our park!

Astroturf leeches microplastics into the ground. We shouldn’t be condoning this.

Astroturf has been shown to leech large amounts of microplastics into the environment. It would be irresponsible to add to the microplastics issue

This green space is heavily used by all generations in the neighborhood. Preschoolers from the. Early daycare come to play group games in open space. Kids fly kites here, children play soccer, friends walk the paths with their dogs. I have never, ever seen this park without multiple users at any time of day. All neighborhoods need space like this, and the nearest alternate spaces are far to travel on foot. As the neighborhood quickly densifies we will need this green space even more. I understand the needs of the high school but please look harder for another solution. The cost of this location to us is too high.

Hello Lincoln high, Please be a good neighbor. Don't take from the neighborhood that is not yours to take. Use what you have and improve on it.

Home owner next to Lincoln High since 1994. Love the high school but not if you take away the neighborhood park thats not yours to take. Reclaim the parking lot that Lincoln currently rents out (which is underused by tenant and causes Lincoln teachers and students to park in the limited public parking in the neighborhood) Combine your current parking space and rental parking space and you got space for field. no you need more parking? dig a underground parking lot in that space and put the field on top. My point is: use what you got and improve on it, don't take what you need from others.

I love to visit the park and practice my Ukulele under the trees, because it feels like a safe and natural place. I don't want to see that realness replaced with plastic and those old homely trees replaced.

Please don't remove a green space in our community and replace it with a turf field for a few select sports programs exclusive use

Let's not compound previous mistakes and continue to remove parks and green spaces from the City. This will have knock-on effects making the neighborhood writ large less safe for pedestrians including small children, excacerbate parking and noise problems, and increase traffic. There are more suitable options with appropriate investment into the parking area at LHS (which is a blight-like heatsink during the Summer), Gasworks (ample parking), and Meridian (larger, able to preserve green space).

Wallingford Park is for ALL citizens! The parking lot is for the students and school. The play field with parking underneath is simply the sensible solution!!
