Support public spaces! We all love schools but this has been a community park longer than I’ve existed and it should stay that way, for the people and the birds!

Wallingford Park is for the community. SPS, a disastrous school district, has no right to waltz in and strong arm their way to getting a field on land that is community space

Leave it as is for all people around the park to use this natural park

I do not see why the needs of the school should override the needs of the neighborhood. Since when could Seattle Public Schools take land from Seattle Parks?

I understand that this proposal seeks to fill an existing need, but I do not believe that the playfield will actually fix the issue, and moreover, will be a significant downgrade for a much greater percent of the population. Not to mention the environmental impact of tree removal and replacement with PFA-leaking astroturf.

Do not replace the grass with plastic

I live close to Wallingford playfield and see kids playing on the playground every day. Losing that would be a shame. Lincoln’s athletes are a tiny part of the Wallingford community.

I really hope they do not replace the grass with plastic.

Replacing a multi-use green space with an artificial turf field that limits public use is a devastating blow to this little community.

Please keep the park a park & don't put more plastic into the world & reduce community usage. Seattle is a beautiful city because of it's more natural features.

This part should definitely be preserved for neighborhood activities. There are many options for Lincoln high school to find a place for a sports field

As a former SPS parent and a neighborhood resident, I am supportive of creating more available turf fields but feel that Wallingford Park is heavily used and valued by the neighborhood as a greenspace that would be missed. It simply is not big enough to add a turf field and preserve the current uses. I think that this would be a big mistake

No artificial turf! So bad for athletes and the environment! Find another place and use grass!

Keep Wallingford park for the Wallingford community. This is our local gathering place and a part of what makes our neighborhood feel connected and special. I’ve met many neighbors and new friends at this park and would be very sad to see it taken away from free play.

We need more green space for our community not less.

No artificial turf, it will be worse for families, the green space, and long term environmental impact

This is a beautiful and beloved family park. The family neighborhoods and parks play a big role in what makes Seattle so special. Children need a place like this to run and play and have some unstructured time in a safe place. Families really enjoy this time together at all times of the year, in all seasons.
