Wallingford Park is perfect the way it is. Seattle is special because we keep small green spaces accessible to neighborhoods, which a turf field would not allow.

This proposal is pretty radical and makes a big change to a old community park that a lot of activity is based around. My child uses the Wallingford Park Playground three or four times a week and it doesn't really seem like this proposal is good for younger children who don't play high school sports.

My kid and her friends use this park, the grass field and the hills to roll and play. For families in apartments buildings or townhouses this is their kids backyard! This will be a huge loss for the community.

Absolutely NO to the removing the Wallingford Play field. I understand the need for school athletics but there are much better options for a football field! the Wallingford Play field is a very important part of our community and must stay accessible to the WHOLE community not just the schools.

No athletic field at wallingford playground. This space isn't conducive enough for a full athletic field at this location without removing the community infrastructure. There are better locations to choose from without compromising design or community spaces.

I think we need to have spaces nearby to walk to for relaxation, picnics, playing. I don’t think picnicking would be allowed or enjoyable on a turf field!

I would be so sad to see Wallingford Park converted to a turf field. Please keep green space open for all!

While I appreciate the intent, open space in Seattle is too precious to consume as the school wants to do.

This park with its wild spaces for children to play are one of the few gems remaining in Seattle today. Please recognize how unique and correct this park is and that it should not be leveled and paved over.

I am not unsympathetic to the desire for a more convenient practice and competition location for students and staff. Still, that convenience comes at the cost of a permanent loss of free-use public space for the entire Wallingford neighborhood, significant noise and light pollution in the vicinity of the playfield, and the destruction of significant canopy and wildlife habitat. Please do not move forward with the bid to renovate the playfield.

Absolutely not. Artificial turf is terrible for the environment and this park is a lifeline for the neighborhood.
