This park has been a part of Wallingford for me growing up and now also my kids. Build your field somewhere else.

This is not a good location for an athletic field. It is a heavily used park important to the neighborhood. Please preserve this green space. Developers are eating up this city.

I support keeping Wallingford Playfield for the public. The school should put a lid on their parking lot or use south Greenlake / Woodland park.

Save the park for everyone! Lincoln HS can lid their parking lot and former field. They don't need Wallingford playfield.

I would be 100% with the idea of a football field, no other football fields are nearby but what held me back a little bit is the fact that, the schools already use it, Lincoln even goes down to the field down at Kid Valley for something’s so what’s the issue ?
Not only that but what really got me to sign this is the fact that they’re restricting it, it sucks so much that corporations don’t give a damn about the community anymore, so much so that they want to eliminate a field, living plant life and joy out of others who actually care about nature, Wallingford Field is a place to remember what natures all about, an ecosystem that shouldn’t be disturbed, giving everyone a win win, this is only beneficial to the education system which already sucks
I hope this petition gets out there!

The more I read the more I think a different location is preferable for the Lincoln HS sports field. My child starts at Lincoln next year and we live in the neighborhood nevertheless I think the Queen Anne location or the parking lot next to Lincoln are better choices.

Save this vital community space! This park was a huge part of my childhood and all children in the neighborhood deserve a beautiful outdoor green space to play freely.

Please do not go forward with this project! This is a sacred place for Wallingford residents and we would be devastated.

There are other options than this that suit a neighborhood of small homes. A diverse group of people use and enjoy this park and neighborhood. This option is certainly not the best for the community.

This park is a neighborhood resource and as such it should not be expropriated from the neighborhood to correct poor planning on the part of Seattle Schools. "We'll just take the park" is the opposite of good planning. Other options exist that would not have the negative impact on the neighborhood.

I have lived in this neighborhood for over 50 years, just a few blocks away from the Wallingford playfield, and I can tell you that this is a much used and much loved park. Please keep the green space open and available to the neighborhood and to others who come to play, enjoy, picnic here.

This is a profound health equity issue: the removal of a neighborhood, natural, free play exacerbates the growing divide between who has access to enjoy the health benefits of physical activity and who does not and leaves lower income Wallingford families with no access to affordable public play space.
