The preservation of the Visitation Monastery, Church, & Academy complex are important to the entire Bay Ridge community -- not just the students who are directly affected. What are our public representatives doing to help save the Visitation Academy? Why do we hear only silence?

The monastery is an important part of the Catholic experience but it is also a part of our history.

It is closing because the sponsoring order does not want to be involved with education. It is a money grab intertwined with Diocese of Brooklyn corruption , obnoxious clericalism and general lack of care for a group of amazing young women who are scared by these actions.

Great work Priscilla.. we hope to see the chapel you described so beautifully become a landmark. You'd think it would have already been done within the last 200 years but we're honored to support the journey! Cheers from all your friends at RH Hospitality Group/Columbus Restaurant Group & Porterhouse! certainly should've been honored that way

Santuary ground it will be a sin to destroy this. So many wonderful memories we need to continue this and allow others to experience the Godly feelings that we were given here.

They should work with Xaverian HS to come to an agreement and also the Bishop of Brooklyn should get involved with the nuns who are in his Diocese.

I am concerned about the irregularities in the process culminating rather suddenly in the decision to close this school. I know from people I keep in touch with from my all-girls Brooklyn schooling 60 years ago that this was an excellent school and answers are in short supply.

Visitation Academy offered a very unique and distinctive experience in spiritual and religious education based on the St. Frances DeSales philosophies. Visitation Academy provided a strong academic program as well. I am a graduate and a parent of a graduate, and was greatly saddened to hear about the closing of this Historic school. I am in support of finding alternative pathways to the closure of this beautiful institution.

Please save such a special school - the most wonderful women have graduated from that Academy and it is a damn shame that everybody is turning the other cheek and letting this happen! We need some movers and shakers to turn things around! Everybody needs to help!

Something completely unholy is happening here! We need to save VA from this greedy deal. Shame on those involved in closing our treasured school.
