March 12, 2012 the Sweetwater Union High School District Board of Trustees will vote on the elimination of VAPA positions that will have an effect on four staff members – Music Librarian (Senior Curriculum Materials Technician), book clerk, Graphic Arts Specialists. Administration estimates this will save $135,000. These cuts will directly impact the students and teachers. We respectfully ask the board to vote to save these positions and allow staff to explore other budget saving and cutting strategies.
