This is a fantastic tool that links the whole of the University, when I started here I was most impressed by this and the diversity of what happens at the University. To lose this would be tragic, it is a fantastic forum for staff to share, express concerns and link up on projects.

It's a valueble resource that shouldn't be curtailed by just what is deemed acceptable by the marketing department.

Our discussions should not be diverted into a Sharepoint silo where we can happily talk to a blank wall, leaving the emasculated pseudo uni info free for the dissemination of corporate rah-rah messages and anti-trade union disinformation as we’ve seen proliferating recently.

Yes, sometimes uni info is abused. But that is not the fault of the tool, it is the fault of the user. Uni info is a valuable tool which contributes significantly to a feeling of community. Tighter regulations are needed, not abolition.
