As a lecturer living quite a long way away, I do find it useful, and it makes me feel that I belong to kind and caring ark-like community, despite the fact that I delete uni info emails every morning. It is also a platform that enables us to voice if we so wish, and listen to, things that concern us. Although at times this can be annoying, it is also often very humbling and moving and its popularity, in the face of abolition, is a barometer of what it is like to be human. So in my opinion, we need to keep it.

Uni info is a valued part of our communications. To replace with bland management style messages will only breed mistrust. Why does SMT wish to stifle debate ?

Uni info will be very much less effective if it isn't actively visible and I support the observation of colleagues about the unique way in which it reminds us that we are, indeed a community!

Access to Uni info is important to many aspects of my working life within the University not least the successful running of my modules.

Essential community communications tool. Apply filters and the messages all go into a separate folder you can view at any time, thus freeing up your inbox for the messages specifically directed at the recipient.

while it is indeed annoying to get emails about spare tables, printer cartridges and phone-chargers, as a very part time member of staff I find uni-info absolutely essential to know what's going on in a University as large as UoB
