School clubs are vital to the College Community. During my undergraduate studies, I initially had no social connections to my university, and I was suffering academically as I felt I did not fit in. This all changed when I joined a Collegiate sport club. The club introduced me to wonderful members of my university's community, and gave me a new purpose to continue my studies at my university. Universities should provide these resources to students, and do everything they can to maintain them.

I am the coach for UC Merced Archery & fully support Maintaining the UCSD Sports Deck. Not just for archery, but for all the sports. When I was a grad student, I worked for the Club Sports program at Fresno State & saw first-hand how important these sports are to the students & to the university. It's not just the varsity sports that attract students & the community. To toss them aside would be detrimental to student morale & could even result in future students looking elsewhere to pursure their education & future in sport.

As many of the UC Merced archers have stated, we understand the difficulty of finding a field to practice for our sport. It's disrespectful to many of the students who practice daily in this area to take over one of the few places close to campus for recreational activities. All students deserve to have a place like this to cultivate hobbies, advance in their sport, and bond within their organizations.

As a student at UC Merced student who has to deal with this constantly believes it is not fare for a sports team to have to struggle with the relocation or loss of their field.

Many club sports teams use and need this field. We cannot afford to have it closed with warren field already closing down.

The campus is packed to stifling levels of tall buildings. Retaining remaining open spaces for acitvity, sports, and an area not overly developed for "breathing" room is imperative. It's an area where the feel of concrete beneath the feet, the smell of asphalt, the sound of traffic and the looming presence of buildings and pressures within does not prevail. This space needs to be retained for land activities as well, for which ucsd is short of. Please do not take this precious resource for parking.

the location is home to multiple sports clubs who train and practice for competitions representing UCSD. I believe the value of helping our students learn, grow, and excel far outweighs that of a convenient parking space. Clearly, the Sports Deck means so much more than just a field to our student community. How the university chooses to utilize this area reflects on its priorities and beliefs. Thus, I truly hope when you make your decision, it will represent both our students' voices and the university's values.

Unfortunately the UC is no longer sbout providing a well rounded educational experience. It's all about the money and paying excessive saleries to professors and staff!
