Save the Thoreau Business District

Inappropriate for the neighborhood.

I’ll attend the town meeting the 14th to learn more.

Please save our only grocery store and cvs!

Completely contrary to the character of the neighborhood, the Thoreau Business District, and the town of Concord.

Really poor and ultimately regrettable idea.

Think this is NOTwhat we want Concord neighborhoods to become. No planning and no respect for those who live here.

This development will destroy the nature of the depot area. Crosby's has been a champion of Concord and a supporter of its citizens for a long time. We need to keep them and the other small businesses in the area that make Concord such a desirable place to live.

I agree with this a 100%, the density will be crazy. Can you post a plan of the building(s) on a map? I can’t figure exactly where they want to built it. A detail, but I still totally agree.

What an absurd idea -- who is pushing this? The Planning Board didn't just dream it up. I know first-hand that they add building and development restrictions every year. So what is the agenda here? This is not random.

I was a concord resident for 24 years, grew up in and around the depot, new London area. My family has a shop by 9 acre corner and have cousins in the concord school system. To move forward with this project would ruin the memories I had from when I was a kid growing up in town, and change how the long time residents see the town and the “small town” life some residents still want would change and more concord lifers will move out.

I am not against development in general but this seems to override the desires of current taxpayers and drastically change a lot of the development parameters generally in place throughout the town.

This is OUTRAGEOUS! We need to save our community!

I am a resident of Thoreau St. We have lived here for 22 years. The traffic has increased greatly during this time. Please consider the neighborhood. We already have a lot of traffic from both Alcott and CCHS. This would be a huge impact.

This is an unnecessary change to the character of our town. I strongly oppose this expansion.

This plan is pretty disappointing. While I live in Lincoln on the Concord line, I do much of my shopping, socializing and dining-out in Concord. I prefer this to driving into Lexington since Concord has a much nicer 'vibe' to it than Lexington which seems to have let zoning and planning run wild - and not at all attractively! If these plans go ahead, I for one - and my family - will most likely be taking our business elsewhere.

The building heights are completely unacceptable for Concord Center.

The scale of this proposed zoning change, to allow what amount to mega-developments in the context of the Town, is a textbook example of poor town planning. Flaws in Concord's development-slanted long-range plan are too easily leveraged to support the building of greater numbers of unaffordable profit-maximized units. Have Concord residents and businesses been asked to what extent they wish Concord to be urbanized?
