Please don’t let the Zephyr go. It’s part of the many charming things that continue to Keep Austin Weird but also lovely, unique and community-oriented. This is an opportunity to keep something simply because it represents joy and love. It’s a part of the collective childhood of our city, much like the Trail of Lights or Barton Springs.

Please don’t take away this iconic Austin landmark! I have fond memories of riding the Zephyr with my daughter. She had her first birthday at Zilker Park and the entire party rode the train - that was her first of many fun filled rides!

Many thousands of children, parents, and grandparents have enjoyed rides on the Zilker Zephyr for generations. This little train, it’s happy whistle, and the ride around the park are an iconic part of Zilker park. Before removing it, why don’t you let the public know what would be needed to keep the cheery train to delight children for years to come. If cost is an issue, why not involve city hall?

It breaks my family members’ hearts to think that the delightful train in Zilker Park could go away. What’s next? The annual Christmas tree? Let’s keep this treasure running!

My son had his 2nd birthday here at the Zephr and we used to go frequently. We have been waiting for it to get repaired. I can’t bear to tell him it’s going—too many memories.

So many of my favorite Austin memories are being relegated to the how Austin used to be list. Please don’t add the Zilker Zepher!

What a shame city of Austin !! The ZZ has been around for 22 years providing joy to kids and families all around the world. To not even try to fix the problem is awful. Bring back the zephyr!

It would be a shame for this train and its tracks not to be around for future grandchildren and grandparents not to enjoy... Oh, look at the ducks over yonder!

PARD needs to find a solution to this instead of throwing the baby out with the bath water.
