Sir Arthur Carlton Lord Mayor of Worcester in WW1 was my husband's g-grandfather. His only son died in WW1. Archives must be preserved

The archive service is a much needed & highly valued source that is used by a great many family historians & I feel that such a drastic cut that the council plan to make could be done elsewhere as the archive service has already had a lot of cuts made to it & the last big one resulted in a lot of lost jobs for staff who had expertise that is hard to replace so I urge the council to think again.

Local authorities have a custodial role to protect and make accessible our nation’s shared history. Such a deep cut would severely impair their ability to carry out this important function. Please think about the long term and reverse this plan.

This is a disaster. So much of the work done in and from Badsey is based on research etc at the Hive. Books have been written, films made etc. The records at the Hive are a basis of life in the community. It must continue.
