It would be dreadful and very short sighted to cut our wonderful Archives and Archaeology Service yet again. This Service should be the
pride of Worcestershire. It has received the highest of accolades and awards. The staff are so knowledgeable and dedicated and provide a fantastic service to everyone who uses it. Any cuts would mean the loss of valuable staff and a reduction in opening hour. We must do all we can to preserve and protect this important and fantastic Service for the future.

And what will happen to all of these wonderful records amassed over the years go if cuts are made and they can no longer be cared for? This history is too important for our children and their children. Is it the W.C.C's right to deny future generations their birth right by cutting budgets for so important a service?

This is indicative of the lack of knowledge and understanding of the wonderful work done by WAAS. One wonders how many of those making this decision have visited or used the facilities at the Hive.

The Archive service received a national award and most definitely needs saving in its entirety. As group leader of a Local History Group and a researcher into local history I am constantly recommending and using the service

So much has been invested in this remarkable service.

Archives are not just dead paper. They are a living history. Destroy them by cutting back on their conserving and preserving and you are destroying a national treasure that will be gone for ever.
