of Knowlege and customer care as they do know will be fantasy !!!! please have a anther think about how buget can be blanced as what has been built up over the years by the hard work off the staff and voulunteers will be lost.

This would be dreadful if the archives were underfunded, Having worked for the council for 10 years I am convinced by my experinces that there are other ways of saving money than cutting the budget for this very important service.

This is a vital resource which has been carefully curated and cared for and must be protected. Worcester was one of the first cities to have a printing press and is also the first city to offer university level archive and library services to its entire population. Worcester should be proudly promoting its flagship services not cutting them.

The archives are a statement of the history of the area both in what they contain and the fact that they exist. Cutting the allocated budget would be a crime. I am aware of the waste of money by the council as my husband worked for you for 10 years in legal services.

Absolute disgrace. Targeting important work and threatening jobs. I belong to Bewdley Historic Research Group, a hard-working body uncovering our heritage. Important work obviously not appreciated by the county council

When MPs and Concillors country wide have wasted so much money on failed projects it is a disgrace that they now they are going down the path of destroying our heritage. Over the past thirty years I have personally used a number of archives in the Worcestershire area and would beg council members to think outside the box for other ways to save rather than destroy the library and archives centres so many of the population of all ages rely on.

I have been using WRO/Worcs Archives for over 30 years and always when visiting other archives wish that they could offer the excellent service that makes Worcester so special. Whilst digital and other DIY type access to information is rapidly increasing nothing can compare with the knowledge, warmth and helpfulness of the staff, as seen in Worcester. This is where such a difference occurs in enabling researchers to meet success, spread the word and return for more!
