Worcester wishes to market itself as a destination venue based upon its fantastic heritage - these intended cuts completely undermine that boast.

A society which does not treasure its past, is one which has no compass for its future voyage.

Archives, like libraries are an easy target for cute, but me must retain our cultural heritage.

Please save this valuable resource becoming inaccessible Many of us are working hard to make the information stored at the libraries and archives available to future generations. Please do not risk our historical documents becoming damaged and unavailable to the general public

We have a responsibility to preserve our heritage for future generations. Also Worcester wants to be a tourist city based on its heritage, we can't do that unless we preserve our heritage

We must preserve past to understand the way forward.

A vital resource but an easy target when looking to save money. What's the point of preserving and protecting our heritage if there aren't the staff to enable the public to access it.

Very concerned the 17th cent archives of the Dame Mary Yate almshouse are lodged in The Hive

These short sighted cuts would be devastating for many people who use the service. The access to the service is already greatly curtailed quite enough. Surely there is a better solution to this problem?

We thought the archives were safe in partnership with the Library and the University How wrong we were!

As a local historian and researcher I know this is an excellent public service; it would be good to keep it that way.

What's the point of keeping records (which costs money) if people's access to them (which can raise money) is curtailed?

Please save our archives if they close it will be lost for ever, then how is research going to be done in future.

This is a threat to a service that roots us in our local environment and aids our sense of identity.

This is so sad. The County cannot afford to lose the expertise that enables access to, and preservation of, so many aspects of its heritage. This will undoubtedly be the case should the proposal be carried out.

This is the finest archive service I have found, to curtail it with such savage cuts is total madness. They know the cost of everything but the value of nothing.

Save this vital resource

The archives are a valuable resource and have been of great assistance to our Archaeological & Historical Society in its research and in providing factual information for our papers and publications

With continued growing interest in the records held by archives such as these, it is senseless to reduce funding, rather more funds need to be allocated to such valuable resources.

Such a valuable resource should be retained and protected .
