It's so important to keep the Croome Archives in Worcestershire and available for public access.

I value the Croome documents and the ability to learn about our local history

This facility/service is at the root of what the County Council should provide for the future. It must be protected

As a former librarian in other counties, now working in adult education for WCC, I am only too well aware of why the preservation of this service and continued access to archives of this nature are so important - vital to so many sectors of society. I worked in schools library services(SLS) for many years, at a time when many wonderful SLS collections and county archives & museums services were being reduced or 'broken up' completely. Valuable services of this kind have taken decades to develop and precious expertise and funding to exploit effectively, becoming a unique local resource and, in Worcestershire's case, a national research facility as well. Once such a service is reduced or diminished in any way, there is no going back. Once a collection is lost it cannot be replaced or restored, at some future date, once more funding becomes available. I know how difficult it is to prioritise funding, when there are so many demands made on the local government purse but part of the County's heritage is at stake here!

It is important to preserve and promote our heritage for now and for future generations our archives are one of the most important tools to obtain information to appreciate and learn about the history of Worcestershire.

How are people supposed to learn without public resources?

The archives are invaluable for so many people; please do not allow any cuts!

This valuable service must remain accessible to all.

This would be a disaster for the archive service, effectively killing them off. They will never be able to get back what they lose, especially their reputation for excellence and all the resources lost to researchers.

Please keep our archive safe at The Hive in Woecester as it is an invaluable facility for research projects .

The Worcestershire Archive Service provides an essential service to thousands of students, local historians and family history researchers. The staff are already under pressure and further cuts seem quite immoral.

Save the archives

The Archives provide a valuable service to young and old. There is a valuable resource here and it must remain easily accessible. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and advise people where to look for leads in their research. For the less physically able it provides a place where they can use their intellect, it provides a reason to get out of their homes and it provides social contact. All very important for their general wellbeing. All in all the Archives provide a valuable service and I sincerley hope that it will not be subject to a reduced service.

Please continue to fund the archives, many people rely on them to discover their family history.

I cannot emphasise enough how crucial this service is to the identity, past present and future of the country!!

I have used the service regularly for family history research. It has been invaluable and information has gone rojnd the world.

The Worcestershire Archives are safeguarding our history for present and future generations and must be able to continue to do so!
