Save the Woodlands - Shenandoah Life Building Property

I am very opposed to this. Not only is this old growth and would devastate a ecosystem. This is not consistent with the plan and Carillon should know better and would be irresponsible of them. We are a tree canopy city , allowing this would be a huge mistake and loss and will end any relationship i have with Carilion care if allowed.

Am very opposed to this unnecessary development. We do not need more commercial construction nor do we need the disregard of our wildlife. The city has a responsibility to protect the quality of our land.

We cant afford to loose anymore green space! When looking to move a business to any area, THAT is a consideration.

Please keep the green space which we need in our neighborhood! thanks

I would hate to see this building and property lost to commercial development. If the surrounding woods are demolished, it would give a totally different feel and look to the community. Hold on to the woods, it is an escape for many to explore and enjoy.

I've been walking through those woods for nearly 20 years. They are the only green space in the heart of Roanoke city. Please safeguard the health of the woods and consider what brings young people to our area!

This is a nice family neighborhood with a walking trail for people to enjoy . The increased traffic will bring noise trash more traffic thru neighborhood

Please safe these beautiful woodlands and preserve the character of the neighborhood.

The Carilion Medical network is always encouraging patients to exercise and yet building in this lovely wooded area would take away a place where many in the nrighborhood exercise, including myself, my husband, and my dog. We go there several times a week and encounter many others from our neighborhood. Its loss so close by to many would be irreplaceable!

Save the woodlands for the few wildlife in our area/community

The idea that progress involves decimating natural areas is absurd, shortsighted, and unscrupulous.

I've always been proud to say that I was a Carilion Clinic employee.. But now I'm just ashamed! Ashamed of the way this was handled with the community and ashamed that Carilion thought this was the right thing to do for one of the communities they serve!

I just moved here from out of state last year. I really love this area, specifically because I can walk to these trails and woodlands from my house. If we lose these, this neighborhood and Roanoke will lose their charm. I won't be sticking around.

Once our woodlands are gone, there is no getting them back. There are plenty other places to build apartments.

Utilize existing buildings and support the beautiful woodlands which draws thousands of people to the area. This will hurt property values and reinforce the perception that Carillion is only a big business.

Irresponsible and neglectful stewardship of the land to allow this. This is also old growth and takes years to develop this kind of habitat. On top of that it will create even more of a traffic problem.

With so many other abandon commercial buildings, why can't they use one of these sites?

As two year residents of Grandin Court, I firmly oppose the plan to reduce the amount of wild land in our area. I would welcome more open space, not less, and this development would impact our area disproportionately. No more development!

Susan & I lived at 1744 Blair rd from 1988 to 2011, sold to our son Rob Jennings We loved the corner lot which backs up to the Shen Life property & Greenway I think that what Carilion is doing is a travesty and is hurting & affecting many more people than they ever imaginedThey need to consider other options, they need to be "good neighbors" after all many of us Support Carilion!

To destroy this beautiful wooded site would be a real crime. Areas like this take centuries to develop!
