Save the Woodlands - Shenandoah Life Building Property

Stop this now please! We don't have much green left! Please!

Save the Woodlands, build this high density housing complex somewhere else. We need to follow many larger cities who have enacted tree cutting bans where the city only cuts diseased and dangerous trees and if / when they are cut, they must be replaced with an equal amount of replacement trees!!! We all have to live here and share this space. This tiny bit of wooded respite is so beautifully situated within an existing established neighborhood, it is just not suitable for development of anything but a park or greenway for the good use of all of us who have helped build and tend the neighborhood with our hard earned dollars over the years. I WILL PAY HIGHER TAXES TO HELP OFFSET THIS CITY REVENUE LOSS to SAVE THE WOODLANDS!!

Let's stop this waste of our time. Barkley, drop your detrimental plan and go home.

Please do not destroy the woodlands behind the Shenandoah Life building.

I oppose using this green area for the project slated for it. I think the document signed in 2005 by City Council should be honored.

Save our woodlands!!

The green space is what makes Roanoke a desirable place to live. We need to preserve it. There are already plenty of new apartments in town. Please don't develop this area.

Traffic is already insane. Will overcrowd schools too. Listen to the people!

I pray that they reconsider and realize the negative impact it will make on our community, wildlife, and resident life.

I am opposed to the proposed apartment development. "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot. They took all the trees ..." No no no

I oppose the destruction of the Shenandoah life woodlands. It is currently used by the public, regardless of the income of the individual. By destroying the trails we are limiting the healthy and vitality of the surrounding area.

It amazes me that Carilion does not understand that these neighbors are their clients...They could not exist without us and even though they almost have a strangle hold on health care in our area a little good will in the form of land donation could go a very long way. I am pretty sure that they can afford it.

Roanoke is trying to become a green city. Why then rip away old growth forests and destroy the beauty that this city and county are known for?

Please help save one of our last forested areas in Roanoke city. Carilion already owns half of this city. We need the Woodlands to maintain the city's reputation as an outdoorsy town.
