Save the Woodlands - Shenandoah Life Building Property

This is too beautiful piece of land and nature to destroy with multiple apts.

Why would anyone want to develop a lovely park?! It's not like Roanoke has ample parks, I say there is a major shortage of quality parks

Horrible idea. Why not renovate an area already vacant. Seems stupid has reached a new level!

My kids, my dog, my husband, and I are in those woods putting them to good use every week!

We just moved to the area and are devastated to learn this could be happening to the place we can walk to with our children. This park is one of the reasons we loved the neighborhood so much. You are destroying the very reason people still want to live in city limits.

we build greenways through urban areas, and when we have a long time existing urban green space, we decide to tear it up. explain that, please.

This is awful, irresponsible and reckless. I'll do all in my power to stop this development because it's important to not develop every sq inch of green space in Roanoke and ruin parks, create floods, destroy home values and increase crime in a good neighborhood.

I have lived here all of my life and have seen so many beautiful lands torn down for the sake of greed. It deeply saddens me and makes me ashamed of my city. It would be a crime to destroy one of the very few natural areas left.

I live near the Shenandoah Life woodlands and have found tranquility admiring the beauty of the site and it's wildlife. Since 'they're not making any more green spaces', we should be very careful about their destruction. Developers and in-particularly "Carillon" (whose goals include looking out for the health and well-being of the community) would do well to find alternatives (urging the buyer to instead, be aided in providing protection for the site). They could be forever remembered by naming the park in their honor.

The site for this project is the wrong place for many reasons. There are other places in Roanoke or Salem where you could build and you wouldn't be tearing down woodlands and killing wildlife. Please move your project to another location. Thank you

There is enough housing in Roanoke City . We need to protect our woodlands, it improves everyone's quality of life to be able to go to this beautiful area.

This area is too beautiful to be desecrated! It would adversely affect Murray Run Green Way which is a big plus for Roanoke City.

Don't cut the trees don't part of my childhood.

This wildlife is beautiful and doesn't need to be tampered with. These trails are wonderful all year round, perfect for hiking, day jogging, or bike riding.

Green spaces are an important part of a healthy community. Do not develop this land.

I grew up on livingston, used to walk the woods every weekend as a little girl. A lot of happy memories and living things there.

I have lived here my whole life. I grew up on Montgomery Ave. and have a close knowledge of these woods. Many many hours spent in them. I am confounded by these plans. As others have pointed out, having these green spaces is part of what makes Roanoke a wonderful place to live. If anything at all, tear down Shenandoah Life building and place apartments there. Please do not disturb the surrounding woodland. I firmly believe that if the residents in Roanoke wanted to live in a city with nothing but buildings, that is where they and I would live. We choose to live in this beautiful diverse city. The landscape is a critical part of our wonderful city.

This is not the place for that many people. Please help us keep green open places in our city, that is what keeps people living here, and moving here.

It is a bad place for an apartment complex! I'm sure the money is good but please find another spot. Not on a Greenway.

No
