Enough is enough. Indigenous peoples have to continuously battle for our right to practice our traditions, speak our language, keep our sacred lands sacred, and make sure treaties aren't constantly broken. We cannot desecrate the oldest ancestral village and burial site of the Ohlone people. Times like this we need to unite and come to agreements for once. I support this petition 110% and will continue to raise awareness for my Ohlone relatives who's land I call home.

We need to stop taking the land of the people who in reality are the reason why we're even here. Thanks to their generosity.

We've already built over too much Ohlone land. Respect what little remains for the native people in Berkeley.

These sites are sacred and need to be respected as such-we owe the Ohlone that in the very least!

the first city in the country to adopt indigenous peoples day needs to start honoring the native people of its own land not just the romanticized indians of the plains and the south west. without honoring the ohlone burials everything else you do in the name of honoring native people is a sham

I would rather see an Ohlone village reconstructed here, to be a place in the Bay Area where we can learn from local indigenous culture and participate in the honoring of the people who kept this land and water pristine for the 10,000 years of living here. I urge the City of Berkeley to stop the ongoing culture genocide of indigenous cultures. We need to uplift and celebrate the native cultures here, not continue to ignore and cover.
