Am definitely against the idea of tearing down old theater, even leaving one side up is not a good idea.

If they aren't going to save it a decent movies in compromise would be requiring that whoever fixes keep the front of the building the same, fixture and significant West Bend.

keep all 4 walls, keep the roof, keep the weather and the mosquitos out of our theatre. Restore the original floor plan including the two rented store fronts on each side of the main level and use the rented store fronts to subsidize the rest of the work.

I was a resident from 1962 through 2000
When I was was growing up I remember going to the theater in downtown West Bend. The remember the upper balcony. I use to admire how it looked inside. I would hate to see the theater replaced with something different. Please don't destroy a landmark.

I love this theater. It's so beautiful, and it would be great to see it in use again. Please save it and keep it a part of our town! If there's a way to donate money, I'd be happy to give some.

The theatre was part of my life for many years. To tear it down and build a pavilion makes no sense to me. Nor, do I see how that could make any money. Save the theatre, use the stage for live entertainment, including national acts, and run second run films. The Rivoli in Cedarburg is non-profit and does extremely well. The West Bend Theatre could do that and more. No liquor license, avoid the hassle and expense. We attempted this during its last days, it's more of a problem and limits the patrons age for any event.

As a theatre lover and Victorian home restorer, I understand both the community importance and financial commitment a project like this requires. This cannot be done without community support and lots of it!

This was such a vital part of the downtown community for over 80 years. It needs to be restored to its art deco splendor and preserved for future generations to enjoy.
