The Waldorf Astoria is a vitally important piece of both New York and American history. Putting up condos in place of it is like putting a golf course on the battlefield of Gettysburg. To the city of New York, we request that you consider its importance as a landmark and keep it. There's plenty of space for condos elsewhere.
What I a fine old historical. It’s part of all our histories but more particularly American history. I do not understand why the American government stand by and allow the systematic destruction of this hotel.
I stayed at this hotel last year and it was one of the highlights of my holiday.
I’m Irish and I feel the loss of one of America’s jewels. From American Presidents to famous painters like Kennedy and Dali who sojourned there the place is brimming with irreplaceable historical suites and fixtures.
