Don't have to demolish it!!!! If they have to build on that site.... move the structure somewheres else!!!!!! WTF. They own the site - 1277 Holdings LLC/ The Limited Liability Company, 2329 Nostrand Avenue, Suite 500, Brooklyn, NY 11210

This property is an American treasure, reminding us that moviemaking was a creation of New York based immigrants, that sound movies were born in Brooklyn, and that the superstars of early cinema plied their trade in the studios and streets of Midwood. No local politics should be permitted to eradicate this precious legacy.

I grew up a few blocks from there. That studio complex is the most historic building in the neighborhood! How can we allow it to be torn down?

I worked in NBC Brooklyn Studios for many years as a cameraman and know the Vitagraph property very well, it's imperative to save something so important to Brooklyn and the history of motion pictures. If there is any way I can help please let me know.

We need to STOP THIS while there's still time! We need to create a HUGE MOVEMENT! This Smokestack is part of New York City's landscape, history and culture, and is one of the last true remnants of the days when New York was the Filmmaking Capital of the World!!
