The site should have been repurposed into a working studio/musuem for future generations. It's a crime to at least not have the tower proudly left standing.

A piece of Classic Old Brooklyn History that should be landmarked. Who knows? Without Vitagraph Studios, Hollywood would not be what it is today.

Brooklyn is being destroyed as it is. Leave some great history to still exist to show current and future generations the uniqueness of the borough, before it gets completely destroyed.

My grandfather's paint and wallpaper store was three blocks north of the studio when I was born in 1958, and I visited the studio as a child. It was always there and I ASSUMED it would be there forever.

I played ball right next to the smokestack as a student at the nearby yeshiva high school, which occupied the actual studio. Even after I graduated, I found the smokestack to be comfort as I rode by on the subway. It is a cultural landmark, a Brooklyn landmark and a New York City landmark. Painful to think of its beautiful lettering smashe

I played ball right next to the smokestack as a student at the nearby yeshiva high school, which occupied the actual studio. Even after I graduated, I found the smokestack to be comfort as I rode by on the subway. It is a cultural landmark, a Brooklyn landmark and a New York City landmark.
