Apart from the very good reasons already mentioned, the building itself was designed by mid-century Seattle architect Paul Kirk. There were good views even on a cloudy or misty day. The venue had space for a variety of uses. I miss it.

From Tokyo to Hamburg, to London, Bristol, Prague, and many more Universities around the world that one may visit, we find a place where faculty of different disciplines can gather informally to share and discuss ideas, share a drink, a lunch; and learn from each other. Dismantling our Faculty Club would be a sign of poor appreciation, an insult to the faculty, and a lack of vision of whoever makes this decision in our administration.

I was a longtime member and really miss this place! It had just undergone a reno right before the pandemic and I loved it! The bartender Peter really knew his stuff and never failed to introduce me to new and wonderful liqueurs or cocktails every time I went there. I even loved the occasionally stale popcorn and other snackies that were available at happy hour.
The lunch service was perfect - not too fancy but not like cafeteria food and very reasonable. Loved looking out across the water—the dining room was the perfect perch.

The restoration of the UW Club) would be a major contribution toward improving the communal life and spirit of the UW. It has been sorely missed by those of us who frequented it for decades.

Not only did the UW Club present a remarkable face of the university to visitors and friends from off-campus, it was a uniquely elegant and relaxed setting for interdisciplinary and faculty-administration gathering over food and drink. Not restoring it would signal a tragic decline in UW's culture.

I remember the thrill when I was allowed to go to the (older) faculty club as well as this one. Women had to attend a meeting to inform us not to put drinks or otherwise abuse the pool tables.
