The UW Club was a vital part of my career and those of many others at the UW for decades. We brought countless visitors, faculty candidates, students, and alumni to this beloved facility, enjoyed many lunches with colleagues, and participated in numerous meetings, receptions, and other events held there. I am very sad that it was closed, as it felt as if a part if the UW’s soul had been lost. The UW Club had no equals at other universities in the US. This special place must be revived and restored!

community gathering spaces for staff and faculty are very limited in the heart of the UW campus. We often have to compete with crowded, large student areas. The UW Club was a gem on campus and eliminating it a decision not in the best interest of our community.

I am a retired ex-faculty member and enjoyed the club as a way to keep in touch with old friends and make new ones. It also provided the means to keep up with the events at the UW. I have been very unhappy since the Club closed.

The UW Club was invaluable as a meeting venue to bring interdisciplinary faculty together from across the campus. The important Northwest modernist architecture that highlights the incomparable view is part of the draw, and should be cared for and restored in its own right. I fully support refurbishment and re-opening of the facility.
