This affects more than just avocado prices for us smaller growers whose homes are on our properties. Operating at a loss due to ever increasing dumping by foreign importers also decreases our home values.

I was present on CAC meeting this Monday and it was ridicules the way they treat anyone whom might have a different opinion. I do not believe we grower have represented by this commission.

Fully support development and growth of our homegrown industry

Pricing is at 50% of the pricing in 2020.

We need help. We pay our employees a good wage AND house them. Completing with countries that pay $5 or less a day for labor is too tough

Please help save our from foreign imports.

I can’t believe the US is not taking actions to stop this!

We have been struggling with our 40-acre avocado grove for the past five years owing to water prices/drought, and would love some relief!!

California avocado growers need a level playing field to prevent substantial injury to the domestic market from foreign imports, especially during the critical California harvest season. Millions of pounds of avocados are now crossing the border from Mexico, Columbia, Peru and Chile, reducing our market share to less than 10% and making it more difficult for California producers to stay in business and make a profit. CAC should be strongly advocating for the U.S. government to use all existing trade laws to ensure fair trade in our domestic market and to preserve the long-term sustainability of the California avocado supply. It's shameful that we pay millions of dollars in assessments to fund an organization that stands down when we need them, while other industries are pursuing relief. Thank you all for posting

I need all the help I can get.

As a small grower it is impossible to make a profit if avocado prices continue to drop and everything else is going to cost more. Limit the import of foreign avocados to enable CA growers to stay alive.

These efforts are long overdue. I would like to see not only monitoring but advocacy for change.

I support the efforts of the California Avocado Commission. Please put into place the monitoring of foreign avocados in support of U.S. avocado growers.

Mexico and their willing US partner packing houses flood the US market with Mexican avocados every Super Bowl, Cinco de Mayo, and American Independence Day in a predatory manner. Imports from Mexico have risen 1000% in the last decade and the Dept of Agriculture keeps approving other country's entry into the US market without any of the labor and environmental standards imposed on US growers. Stop these predatory practices NOW!

This is not about protectionism. It is about fair trade and a level playing field. Please collect data from foreign growers including subsidies, lack of regulatory costs, and other direct and indirect advantages that such growers have compared to domestic growers.
