The Cust plan is a monstrosity and I agree with Christopher Pickell's opinions in his April letter. Having Cust's 6- and 7-story buildings towering over Main Street will ruin the town's ambiance forever. Clinton, Lambertville, and Frenchtown are thriving with NO urban renewal style projects. Flemington does not need this and it will ruin the town forever.

save these buildings and value what you have built . too many buildings in Toronto met this fate and were replaced with faux replicas. look to Port Hope Ontario as an example of a community that has kept their downtown intact for the most part and are continuing to understand their connection to the past . I live in flemington it was a great place to take my friends that came to flemington to see me and shop and eat at the hotel . I loved going there after work with co workers to wind down after a long day and friendly people there as well . Big mistake to knock it down it's a historic landmark . Keep it standing and renovate it

This is history and should not be destroyed. Flemington should not be turned into a city with tall buildings just to pad a few peoples pockets to the detriment of the entire town. Plenty of other towns have saved their historic landmarks and turned them into thriving businesses. There are also too many cars on the road as it is, there is no place for the 900 cars they want to make a parking deck for. Ask anyone who has been stuck in traffic on 31, especially when school is getting out or a holiday.

That is a beautiful building that should ve restored not torn down. I still love going to flemington. Was just there last week. Its charming. I wish the old glass building was still there.

It would be a tragedy to tear down such a beautiful & historically significant building. One of the biggest draws of Flemington is it's historic charm. Historic preservaton & adaptation for modern use. I would love to stay in the old hotel if it was restored!

The American Hotel was another such landmark in Freehold NJ. It was renovated
and is now a stylish anchor in the downtown area.

As a Flemington resident, with the hope of our dog and horse rescue farm continuing for generations, I do not want to see historic Flemington designated for Jack Cust's apparently insatiable greed.
