I've signed the petition; however the reality is that when money is the sole criteria for making decisions about local development, history will become "history". That's what happened to the Flemington Faiegrounds: although there were those who wanted to see it saved, (myself as a Flemingtin Councilman included), but in the end the zoning was changed to make the land more valuable for big box stores. Follow the money, and you'll see where the future will be.

Please save the hotel, this is a historical property, and needs to remain an anchor to Main Street.

You need to contact National Trust for Historical Preservation. The phone # is800-944-6847. I will try too. They fight for preserving historical places.

Like other historical towns, it is imperative to save what makes us unique and continue the education of that history. Destroy that and we become just another small town swallowed up by retailers.

Please try to work with the ambiance of the town. Stop putting MONEY before the beauty of the town and the character.

If the 1000 signatures put up $20,000 each they could be a part of saving the hotel and own a piece of the community.

my ancestors helped form flemington. My grandfather was once the mayor. I have a long history in this town. Is this building not historically protected? This is just shameful. All for change but not at the cost of the history of a small town with good values.

Save that ish! We don't want BS commercial buildings we want that historical small town feel. For god sakes issue some new liquor licenses and have some cool bars move in. No local pubs or watering holes. You want a beer? We have chilis Applebee's or fridays..... Great thanks. (Sarcasm)

I think the Union Hotel is a pinnacle part of Flemington, past , present & future. At least save the facade and its history! It is a national treasure. To revitalize Flemington, one must look at the whole picture. It's treasures need preservation.
