Flemington deserves to keep it's historical beauty and be restored not replaced.

A piece of history should not be torn down for the sake of progress. The building you put up, will never amount to the history this building has already.

I'm sure it could be turned into a successful restaurant. Examples. ....Clinton House, Pittsown Inn.

I love the idea of having more culture and community-based spots to gather. Pained to think of the great spots mentioned that got destroyed and replaced with malls and shopping centers. Let's make some good decisions. Stangl is a great example of what's possible

I would love to see the Union restored to its original Beauty. So much history in that building. I agree too many shopping places now. Perhaps turn it into a place for our next generation, like a movie theatre. That's a nice thought :)

If it is completely torn down, the only history we have will go with it.

The hotel lends so much charm and historical reference to the town it would be a shame to have it forever replaced by new structures.

The Union Hotel is one of the few really great things that remain in Flemington. When I tell people about this town that I grew up in, one of the first things I'll always mention is the Union Hotel and the courthouse and the trial of the century. It's exciting, its historic, and it gives Flemington something to rally behind. If we lose this hotel, Flemington will become nothing more than a bland series of strip malls and shopping outlets that is doomed to become forgotten to history.
