Please let's save the Historic Union Hotel. It is the last of three standing hotels from the town.

The Cust plan is a travesty and would be a disaster for the borough as well as the surrounding area. May wiser decisions be made concerning this!

As a recent college graduate, it would a horrific loss to see this piece of history taken away from my generation and future generations.
It is valuable in presenting history to future, which is what draws people to interesting places as can be seen in other areas around the country including nearby Lambertville and Clinton. Between a beautiful main street with a significant history and the historical steam train ride we already have, there would be a significant draw for tourists.

I used to work in the Union Hotel during its last few years of being open. It was beautiful even while crying out to be restored to its original beauty. Future generations should not have to read about once was but be able to walk through it and see the history with their own eyes.

Preserving our history will help us in the future. Tearing it down and to build more nonsense will only make Flemington another over populated, over developed town like Cranford in Union County became. Do not destroy this town!!!!!!!

I have lived in historic Wilmington, NC, for 40 years and watched this same destruction and gentrification happen all around me. You do not want it. My family originated in Flemington, NJ (Vlerebome, Sutphen, Bellis). I would hate to see this happen to such a jewel of a town.

I am an 8th generation descendant of Flemington's first settler Johann Philibus Kaes. My great aunt served and a Flemington switchboard operator before her marriage and spent every day of the Lindberg Trial on the Hotel's front porch. She and her husband owned the house on the corner of Capner St. where the new court complex (They shared the house with my great-grandmother, M. Ruth Sutphin Van Camp (yes she married Wilson Van Camp, a brother of ole "Peg," and was longtime-housekeeping manager at the hospital (where I was born) after being a housekeeper for the MIller Family. We used to play on the swings in the part as children and have not missed the lose of the park, as our fond memories are still in tact. SAVE THE UNION HOTEL! ... and the courthouse too while you are at it! THOSE 8-STORY MONSTROSITIES WOULD DWARF THE ALREADY HISTORICALLY DESIGNATED. COURT HOUSE! You can preserve the historic downtown as most of your residents desire. I saw a show at The Stangl Stage. Excellent preservation and repurposing was done there!

If the Clinton Mill, the Lambertville Station, the Sergentsville Inn,and the Frenchtown Inn, can be saved, certainly the Union Hotel can and should be saved. Lets us all unite and fund raise to save this beautiful and very histories building. It is the anchor building for Flemimngton.

Demolishing a historic building in the historic district of a town whose tourism depends on that historic district is a really shortsighted thing to do. Redevelop the existing hotel and create an attraction people would be drawn to.
