You must be kidding! They take away the Hunterdon Theatre, the Flemington Fairgrounds, the Circle Diner. They even tried moving the monument onto the church lawn. Thank God, the church said No. How do we give directions anymore. What do we care about in our historic hometown? There has to be another way!

Let's keep the charm of an era long gone. This is a beautiful building. I love the memories of summer gatherings on the porch and warm winter occasions surrounded by the nostalgic decorum. Let's save this irreplaceable building.

Our heritage and history is important and should be passed on to future generations. SAVE the Union Hotel and work to bring it back to its former glory.

That's a Large Part of Flemington History, Historical Society should be helping to keep it, like the old jail and court house. Do some History fundraising and grant searchs, things to attract visitors to learn about the towns history.Colaborate with town organizations, I was born and raised my daughter in this town, would hate to see it gone, I'm 60 is and ever time I have to drive by where the Movie The rater Was I still get mad and teary eyed. Greed and progress. Are Not Always best. Have a group, I'd love to help work to save the hotel...

I grew up in the Flemington area. It would be a horrible mistake to destroy the Union Hotel in Flemington.

Tearing down this building would be a disgrace to the town of Flemington. Why isn't this building on the historical registry and why isn't the historical society fighting to save it? If there is money to build a college, hotel and 900 space parking structure, why isn't there money to restore this significant building.

New is not always better. The Union Hotel is not only beautiful, but also historic and should not be removed.

I spent the first night of my honeymoon there because of the terrible blizzard that hit the town.

America is full of places that look what the developer has planned for our cherished Flemington. Preserve its unique history, preserve the 'look' of main street, including the hotel and the bank and the environs. Many Americans long for 'small town' atmosphere; do not give relinquish Main Street, Flemington, NJ to the developers!

As a founding member of the Sourland Conservancy I am very interested in the Lindbrgh kidnapping and the whole history that goes with it. I lead bus tours around the Sourlands and what our guests are most fascinated with is everything to do with this event.

Please save this historic hotel. We need family friendly activities to replace those that were destroyed, such as the skating rink, the bowling alley, the movie theaters. Our young people need nice places to spend time. There are empty stores all around town--we already have lots of places to shop.

Not only should the hotel be saved and restored, but the reenactment of the kidnapping trial should again be staged. It was a part of what made Flemington a place to visit and enjoy.

The Union Hotel is part of what sets Flemington apart from other towns. I do hope the mural inside will be saved, too!

Doing this would be a disgrace to the future of downtown Flemington.

It would be such a disgrace to see one of the oldest and unique buildings in the heart of Flemington torn down. There are so many different mixed uses available with that space but it should be done with historical restoration, not demolition!!! This building is in the heart of downtown Flemington. The township would be doing the future generations of hunterdon county, NJ and anyone else connected with Flemington a disgrace by letting this happen. I am in AZ and writing this message because this building is still important to me and my family in Ringoes!!

Please save this historical landmark and keep our Victorian looking town

Making Flemington look like every other town doesn't strike me as the way to revitalize it. Whatever the way forward, tearing down what is unique is not the way.

This building is almost as important as the Court building... it is part of the history of our town, our county!
