Our historic structures across the nation must be saved and repurposed to keep our history alive for generations to come. Taking them down is a selfish act that robs our youth!

Progress should never come at the expense of a community losing its tangible history. There are always avenues to explore for adaptive reuse, one need only take the time to open a discussion into the matter. The Union Hotel is a gem, and to demolish it would be to take away far more than a vacant building.

My father was born and raised in Flemington. I spent my childhood weekends with my grandparents in Flemington. My father passed away last summer and I am glad that he is not alive to see the potential ruination of his hometown. Please do not let this happen!

Would be a grave mistake to destroy the heart of our small-town. Please keep the structures that make Flemington historical. It would take another piece of the memories and history the town has had for hundreds of years. Please restore the hotel to its original facade and keep "Flemington, Flemington".

I grew up in the beautiful little town of Flemington in the late 50's and 60's. it was a wonderful town. i now live in another quaint town...Frenchtown. I make frequent trips to Flemington and I am already saddened to see the changes that have taken place over the years. BUT at least the main street looks much like it did years ago. Tearing down these historic buildings would be like tearing the heart out of Flemington.

If nothing more the fasade of theis historical hotel should be saved and worked within the rest of the framework of the building and existing neighborhood

My brother works in Trenton for the Department of Environmental Protection and Historic Preservation. I'll bring this petition to his (and co-workers) attention if is currently not.

One of the reasons I moved to Flemington 9 years ago was because of the beautiful, historic downtown. The thought of these beautiful buildings being torn down when they could be preserved horrifies me. What a waste of resources! Please do not move forward with the current plan, but keep the beauty and history of Flemington intact.

The idea that demolishing one of Flemington's best and most-loved assets will encourage more people to do business there is ludicrous. Please rethink your approach and listen to the people of Hunterdon County. I think I would avoid downtown Flemington altogether if this were to come to pass.
