It would be a disservice to Flemington to destroy this landmark, especially for future generations. Reading about the history is great, but to see and acknowledge it’s past is what makes a town. Flemington will become the standard of mall after mall with the usual storefronts. What makes this town unique is right in the heart of Main Street. Revive this building, restore it to it’s glory. It survived this long for a reason, it was meant to be here.

Do not destroy Main Street by demolishing these buildings and allowing the proposed development. The area does not have the right demographics or transportation infrastructure to support all of the commercial development in Raritan Township, let alone downtown Flemington.

It's really a shame that these ideas are coming from transplants who settled in our quaint little town because of its charm. Shame on them!! Our charm is rapidly disappearing. PLEASE leave our history be!

Away with these clowns who want to destroy our history in the name of "progress".

Taking down this hotel is un-thinkable to me. This should not be allowed to happen. Does no one place any value of the charm of this centerpiece? Jeff

This hotel is so beautiful! Deserves to be preserved both for its aesthetics and the history tied to it!

This place is amazing! We've lost too many historic properties in the last year, we don't need to add this to the list.

It's hard to believe these historic buildings will be trashed to make way for newer junk. Really?! You're going to trash all of the labor, materials and craftsmanship from long-gone artisans to make way for selfish short-term planning and greed. Will this have been a great move 100 years from now? Is it always about the money? Other towns have successfully saved, renovated/converted old buildings. Save Flemington, don't mutilate it!

Enough destroying our history. The roller rink, movie theater and fairgrounds were all a part of my childhood and it is such a shame these places are not there to share with our children and grandchildren

Due to the historical value of this structure and events directly connected to it, need I say anything else?

Don't demolish a historic building because it needs to be repaired. Use the money to fix history not for some new building.

Please please do not sacrifice this historical hotel to empty progress. We must hold on to the value of our history.

If there was ever a building to save, it would be the Union Hotel. It too has a history and is tied to the famous historic trial at the old courthouse. The last thing Flemington needs is another "new" building. With the right person leading, this building CAN be restored.

We must find a way to preserve this historic site and revitalize Main Street. Do not demolish the Union Hotel.

I am a local resident and Cust's plan will destroy Flemington. These buildings need to be preserved.
