Why can’t we just decorate this tree instead of cutting it down

Looks fine where it is. If it has to go,why not repurpose it usefully in another area of our town. Don't just cut it down.

I don't understand why you would cut down a real tree to put up a fake tree.

I’ve never heard of anything so ridiculous .. kill a perfectly good tree loved by locals for a temporary Christmas tree!! Ridiculous and stupid idea m. Whoever thought of it is definitely NOT a local

We NEED trees that are REAL to put oxygen into the world and to cool it down. Instead of tearing them down PUT IN MORE!

Why on earth would you cut down a gorgeous shade creating beautiful tree home for many little bids for a fake Christmas tree. Trees create a sense of beauty calm and peace how tragic to cut it down.

Why cut down a thriving tree that gives pleasure & shade to locals & visitors alike for 12months of the year & replace it with something that is only going to do that for , maybe , 2 months . YES ,I understand that safety concerns surrounding the current location , . Surely the Xmas tree could be placed in the forecourt without destroying the trees that are already there. Just decorate the existing trees

The ratepayers of the Burdekin need to be included and informed of decisions like this. Not all of the ratepayers can make it to the councillors meetings at the times that have been designated. Ratepayers of this community work at these times. Needs to be changed to more suitable times for everyone. Regards. Save the tree.
