These trees should not be removed. They add tremendous value to the neighborhood. Removal of these trees will create a starkness and is unnecessary.

There is nothing to gain by widening Amherst from the alley to the street. That's not even a full block. The mature trees are one of the beautiful and charming things about our neighborhood. They should stay.

Widening Amherst from the alley to the street is not even a block long. It serves no purpose. Do not cut these trees down! Our neighborhood is beautiful. Don't start ruining it.

The removal of these trees was forced upon the developer that is currently building the units on the corner lot.The City's own records confirm that Amherst does NOT carry a traffic load, making the destruction of these mature trees pointless.

Please do not cut down these trees! There is no need for street widening where the trees are located. The city should be protecting trees NOT cutting them down.

Have lived near the corner of Amherst and Montana for a number of years. I fail to see how destroying the identified trees accomplishes anything. Widening one half the block on a relatively lightly traveled residential street seems to me a futile exercise for no demonstrable benefit. I recently returned from Shanghai. In the French concession in particular the value of trees for shade and rain protection and for aesthetics could not be more clear. As we deal with climate change trees both mitigate CO2 concentrations and add 02 to the atmosphere. The removal of mature trees that are healthy should be undertaken only with the highest level of justification. This proposed removal seems to have no substantive justification.

Please do not cut down the trees. A lovely tree was already cut in what was the front yard of this property to make room for these 6 town homes. No need to destroy more trees. We need the oxygen and the shade.

Hundreds of trees are being cut down in this neighborhood. This week alone, three trees were cut down at Amherst and Darlington Aves., only one block away. These trees once provided shade, beauty, oxygen and habitat. They are irreplaceable.
