The cost of going for a swim these days is already ridiculous. To put financial pressure on community based, inclusive clubs is just shameful and un-Australian.

This facility built by the council to cater to the needs of the community. It should not be priced out of reach for those who have been using it for years. This is a very disappointing outcome for the community.

I strongly support this partition. There are many with our community who can't afford these substantionally increased fees. It's it supposed to be a public pool for the public? To see individuals, especially those struggling with ability impairment, no longer able to utilise the pool which they have called home for so many years is extremely disappointing. Council needs to take decisive action now to prevent this unfortunate situation festoring. A new facility was definitely required but if it means that regular users from our community can no longer access it, hopefully you will see the light very soon.

i did swim club at manly as a kid - such great memories - i plan to come back in the next year or so with my kids, but couldn't do so with the fees that would be necessary to cover the cost of pool hire...existing pool users shouldn't be punished (financially) for the councils decision to build new infrastructure when they are still using the exact same facilities as they always have!

I am a swimmer with a disability. It took me many years to find a swimming club on the Northern Beaches which catered for my needs. For 15 years, Manly pool and Manly Ladies & Assoc Swimming Club has provided me with a place to improve my swimming, a welcome social setting & a family outing. I have swum races alongside my brother & sister. I would not be able to afford a large increase in fees.

Just like beaches, playing fields, Parks and Gardens our pools are an amenity that should be centrally funded.

At last, an affordable option for swimming club members while still making a contribution to the Northern Beaches Councils Manly pool running costs. The previous offers put forward by NBC are beyond the financial capacity of the Clubs. It has been a big concern, as the costs would have to be passed onto members in addition to their yearly, rates, membership & weekly pool entry fees. The NBC have overlooked the important role these swimming Clubs have for our community. They are not serving elite swimmers but pensioners(elderly& disabled) & families(often comprising of 2 parents & many children) who would find an extra weekly cost per head unaffordable.
This is the Northern Beaches, where waterways abound, surely the NBC should be fostering organisations who are encouraging locals to be stronger swimmers? NBC, seize this opportunity to show you are actually serving the local community.

Where has your community spirit gone? Even from a business point of view aren't you better of having people using the pool at a lesser cost than you greedy buggers want
