It needs to stay open for the students and parents that come to shows, keeping refreshments available during shows is essential to the atmosphere of what theatre is! And plus roding is so sad without an SU and for those who cant prepare lunches its important that you give these people the option to get food on campus. If you lowered the prices you'd get more profit from more people buying instead of charging more than a meal deal. STAY OPEN!

Infuriating how University of Essex keeps disappointing me in the way they treat their students. As an International Student I feel my tuition fees are a big personal investment so, as a student, I demand quality not just in the teaching but also in the facilities, which keep proving to not be in the best possible condition. Please rethink this action, because it doesn’t make sense at all getting rid of a safe social space for the students, a nice study place, cheap meal deals that actually have quality. Substituting it with vending machines just shows how lazy and unconcerned the University always seems to act toward their students. The SU is a place that brings the school together and also a place that can be used as a bar for performances, showing to people outside of East15 what a great and professional school we are. For all those reasons, and more I didn’t state, I find this decision an absolute nonsense and impossibly to understand. Please make the right choices and make Loughton and Roding campuses a nice and pleasant learning space again.

Not only should it stay open but the meals should be cheaper because we are STUDENTS! More people would buy things if it was cheaper; everyone would be buying breakfast and lunch (and dinner during evening shows.) Keep it open, this is ridiculous I have to be honest.
