Please conserve this beautiful neighbourhood. The White Houses' heritage presence is a joy for citizens of Stratford and tourists alike.

This is an intolerable intrusion on the neighbourhood and Stratford's heritage. I call upon you and your colleagues to take all measures to oppose it.

Please save this building. There are plenty of areas to build and change without disrupting the beauty of this neighborhood.

This property has irreplaceable historical value. There is plenty of land in and around Stratford that can be developed, but there is only one White House. Please keep Stratford a beautiful city that treasures its historical landmarks and save it from becoming a second Toronto.

It has always been a landmark. Would be such a waste to throw away.

In addition to supporting the need to preserve heritage properties in Stratford, I also have concerns about the infrastructure of sewers and vehicle access in this residential neighbourhood.

I am in a bit of a dilemma about this. I have signed the petition, but I am concerned that if you make the property too restrictive to maintain, then the alternative could be that someone with deeper pockets moves in, and successfully fights the battle to either rezone or demolish. It appears the owner has been clear -he has stated that he does not intend on demolishing the property. And I do sympathize that he probably has huge expenses to maintain the site. Ideally. it should probably become a designated site, and protected, if in fact that is what is deserves. I do believe these old homes should be saved. However, if the owner's intentions are true, and he is simply trying to finance the upkeep of the house through the sale of some lands, well, perhaps....but long term it doesn't seem sustainable.

City council needs to reinforce that we as a community value the history and growth of our city. If this happens it will set a precedent for outside investors that our city's cultured past isn't protected, it is for sale to the highest bidders to destroy at their will.

This has to stop! A very bad idea, indeed, and if City Council allows this, you will be irresponsible and most unpopular.

Once it's gone, it's gone, couldn't we preserve this example of a bygone era?

There are too many historical landmarks being destroyed nowadays. I lived and grew up in the White House, it's a magnificent property and I would hate to see it destroyed.

This is completely short-sighted , not at all in compatibility with the surrounding area. There are so many other places in Stratford that can be developed, there is no reason, other than greed, to devalue this core, historic area of our city. This was already turned down by the City of Stratford's Committee of Adjustment in just August of 2015. Please let's encourage the Mayor & Council to participate in defending the decision that they made then.

It seems to us to be incredibly short sighted to destroy such a beautiful landmark that brings so much charm and grace to Stratford. A heritage building should be treasured not destroyed for money and greed. We live in Kitchener which has a disgraceful record for the destruction of heritage buildings. Year after year we watch as greed gets the better of our city leaders and they allow our history to disappear. Please don't make the same mistake with Stratford.
