This is a travesty. The government surely has better things to concentrate on!! And to those people is Steep Rock who complained, shame on you. Peter & the goats have brought tons of visitors to this area of Manitoba and has boosted Steep Rocks beauty and tourism. Please keep Hopper & Gonzo where they are - we just visited them 2 weeks ago and LOVED the 2.5 hour trip - it was worth it because of Goat Island!

We heard about goat island and are planning a family vacation in the middle of August. There are 20 of us coming out and will be staying in campground and some have rented cabins. Had I not heard of goat island,I would have never had any reason to visit.

What is good for a local economy is good for everyone. The goats are in no way making a negative impact, let them stay and let the busy-bodies continue on their self-destructive path of unhappiness. They'll find something else to obsess over.

We are travelling to visit this site next month specifically to see the goats and the island. Suspend this ridiculous eviction order and allow the owner to apply for any silly permits that may be required.

Why are they doing this. Who had a brain wave and woke up one day and decided “today I will start process to get rid of the goats”. It has to be someone who doesn’t have a clue.
